Gay In America?

Bryan spends a lot of time researching for his blog...This week bryan felt a little upset at the attitudes to gay families expressed in several prominent gay blogs. A white middle class family was featured on CNN and they were attacked because of the fact that the are an upper middle class white male couple trying create their dream of having a
family ..they were accused of "heterosexual normative behavior"....in other words copying straight people in order to achieve acceptance at the expense of their gay identity. As a result, the documentary was criticises as being too "stereotypical" and lacking in showing the full
spectrum of LGBT people.

Speaking from experience, raising a child or children in gay unfriendly USA is selfish at least. Because children will come into contact with other people and their children, it might be very stressful for a child to fit in if he has 2 daddies or 2 mommies. Children can be the most cruel to each other and a lot of it is baggage from their families. If a same sex couple wants to live together and raise children, it can be very difficult for the children. Think about it.

@istanbul216 Hmm well being a gay parent with two kids one in kindergaden and the other in fith grade I can tell you that you are a 100% wrong. Danile is very comfortable talking with other kids about the fact that he has two fathers. He has play dates at our home with his friends. His 4th grade teachers was an out lesbian who also has two kids in the same school and his best friend has two mothers. The world is changing I am sorry not fast enoufe where you live. We dont stop living.

This is the point of it: gay people are human beings just like any other people. When they create artificial barriers between them and the rest of the world, it harms themselves in the 1st place.

"Most straight people" don't have an issue with gay people. A majority of Americans have a family member who happens to be a part of the GLBT community.
