Zelda - Koholint Island

One of my favorite arrangements. Originally done for an original soundtrack of arranged pieces, that would've basically been an orchestral re-imagining of the soundtrack to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, featuring over 300 tracks and a dramatic, rewritten storyline that emphasized the romance between Link and Marin and the heartbreak during the final revelation.

This song is only played once during the entire game -- while link is being introduced to Koholint Island -- so I wanted it to be special and memorable. I wrote a couple of original measures using themes from elsewhere in the game. The part using The Ballad of the Wind Fish is one of my proudest compositional accomplishments ^^

This is... Magnificent! The way the clarinet and flute mixes; it's magical! The use of the trumpet to convey that feeling of an epic adventure! It's absolutely the best version of any Link's Awakening music I have ever heard!
