Where did you hear it's fake? I know we can't believe in a lot of things but I've read in "Folha de São Paulo" newspaper about these groups (are several small groups) still living "protected" by the forest.

I can imagine, that they don't want to contact us, because they have some tales from their ancestors about the brutality of the spanish army towards them. Otherwise I don't know why they should become that angry and frightened. They also could become a little bit more snoopy on the helicopter.

The government doesn't know who these people are for sure. It could be a tribe or it could be a cult that dropped out of society in the early part of the 20th century.
Google/YouTube in conjunction with the Government of Brazil might consider dropping active video cameras that can transmit images to a central location. A video camera for every person on the ground. They will get the picture and so will we.
