Broadcast (2011) Dr Alice Roberts reveals how your body tells the story of human evolution. The way you look, think and behave is a product of a 6 million year struggle for survival. We have uncovered the secrets of the atom and travelled to the moon. But how did humans come to be so successful? This series explores the anatomical changes that have given us, and our ancestors, the edge. Everything from the way that we walk, to the shape of our jaw and even the way our thumbs move connects us intimately to the struggles and triumphs of our ancestors. Yet many of those changes have come at a surprising cost and the problems we face now are a direct consequence of our evolutionary journey. As much about our bodies today as about our bodies 6 million years ago, Origins of Us will change the way you see yourself.

  • @Quran871 no clearly your not one of us son :-)

  • isnt there a BIG gap in evolution? fake. i aint no monkey

  • shes so pretty

  • @siumingx2 i was thinking the same. As a caucasian myself i hate that false portrayed image like if we were the blue print of homo sapians, we are a race within homo sapians and mixed with neandertals end of story

  • Surprised this is still up, most BBC documentaries I've tried to watch have been taken down

  • Finally a documentary that shows homo sapiens not as a Caucasian

  • @brbr28 Emo, you do know that this world loses it's value the day humans go extinct? There's no value in anything, because "Value" is a human definition of something that has no meaning.

We are made to go beyond our natural boundaries, technology will transform us, and one day will be traveling to the stars, even a full nuclear war cannot make us extinct, it will always be people who're not in contact or is underground, and they will repopulate this word. Humans are here to stay, enjoy!

  • I am so hot for teacher. What more to ask for, but a smart and beautiful lady? I hope she is in more episodes.

  • @mrteemumilto Maybe that's why they titled this episode "Bones".

  • Brits make the best documentaries because they're targeted for Britons. If they were to target the Americans, they'd be making reality shows about orange skinned mammals or pregnant baboons living in a beach house.
