Energy, Kirk Sorensen and Baroness Worthington of the House of Lords in
the UK.

This episode was recorded at Media Fusion in Huntsville, Alabama, in
conjunction with filmmaker Gordon McDowell, who is producing an upcoming
documentary on thorium.

    @Kirk – the original license period for Gen II plants was 40 years, not 30. And it wasn’t really an engineering “design” life as much as it was based on previous experience with fossil plants and an arbitrary depreciation period to set for the accountants. Extensions are granted after extensive NRC review for an additional 20 years.
