Nick Donaldson's Space Elevator Robot Wins Gold In Ribbon Climbing At RoboGames 2010

Nick Donaldson's S.E.R (Space Elevator Robot) winning the Gold Medal in the Space Elevator Ribbon Climbing competiton At RoboGames 2010. Neither of the other competitiors were able to ascend the ribbon so Nick's robot, which although slow successfully made it to the top, took the Gold. In addition to onboard batteries, a solar cell powered externally by a 1,000,000 candle power flashlight gave the robot a 2x multiplier bonus, bringing the time down from 43s to 21.5s.
