The Scottsdale Chorus competed with 32 other Sweet Adelines Choruses from around the world in October of 201 in Seattle Washington. Scottsdale became the 2011 Sweet Adelines International Chorus Champions with a record score of 3077. The are also the very first chorus in history to have won after qualifying for the competition by wild card! The home region of The Scottsdale Chorus, Region 21, also made history by capturing both the Gold and the Silver medals (Harborlites Chorus of Anaheim California)!

  • Yes, it doesn't ring the same way as the men's voices, but it DOES ring, and quite well. And the video doesn't do it as good of justice as it does live. And this chorus SANG and made MUSIC...they didn't yell at the audience. ;-)

  • Carol Mayka is one of our favorite people. Congrats to Carol and all the voices of the INTERNATIONAL CHAMPS!!

  • ob la di is amazing at the end, mum showed it to me about a week ago, well done Scottsdale :)

  • Fun to come across this by accident, one week after hearing your fabulous Swan Song performance! Perfect timing for me, as I missed much of last year's webcast, and hadn't heard your championship performance before now. Thanks for posting (Can it be that you're continually improving? I think that's the case!) : )

  • @beatricedewarynton on the contrary, I'm a long time barbershopper. I'm just not impressed by this, it lacks the lock and ring that top male groups achieve.

  • @rarchnick Obviously you know very little about barbershop music. Stick with Choral.

  • Holy damn this is good. It's fun to hear a chorus do this song, especially in the Sweet Adeline's competition

  • @rarchnick The overtones produced are between 12000 Hz and 16000 Hz, perfectly audible. I can hear em nice and easy. You just have to listen. Women's choruses also almost uniquely produce undertones, which are also really cool.

  • Way to go Scottsdale!! Love Y'all!

  • Just as exciting as it was Contest Week!

  • outstandingly amazing! :-)

  • My God girls, where do you get all of that air from? Fantastic performance. Two thumbs up & big toes too !
