Die vorliegende Novelle des brasilianischen Waldschutzgesetzes (Código Florestal) sieht vor, dass Umweltauflagen für Grundbesitzer drastisch gelockert werden.
Das alles hätte nicht nur Folgen für das Klima: Die Bodenerosion würde zunehmen, der Düngemitteleinsatz müsste steigen, durch die fehlenden Wälder würde der Wasserkreislauf gestört. Es käme zu Problemen in der Trinkwasserversorgung, die Gefahr von Hochwasser und Erdrutschen würde steigen -- und letztendlich der Mensch leiden.

    Das Gesetz ist grundsätzlich nicht das Problem: Nur als Vergleich: 99% des (Amazonas-)Regenwaldes werden illegal gerodet 1% legal.

    Wichtig wäre es, UNABHÄNGIGE und NICHT KORRUPTE (Polizei-) Wächter einzusetzen.
