Oh wow, the maspeth holders :(
I was sad when I found out they were demolished.
I remembered when I was little visiting a a relative in cooper park I would see these bad boys and wondered what they were for.
There's absolutely no connection between this and 9/11.
They planned this demolition in July of 1999.
And yes there is an a section of queens called maspeth, and an avenue in Greenpoint called maspeth as well.
RIP maspeth holders D;

Except that top officials of the demo company were again in town on 9/11 for reasons unknown.
-
Nevermind that Keyspan planned to demolish the tanks for several months before 9/11, and there WERE reasons given.....
God, i used to love living in NY before all these goddamn hipster assholes moved in.

Yep, lots of sheeple everywhere in the world. Well I will just ask the sheeple if the government has nothing to hide about 9/11 then why not just have an investigation? Why not release the Pentagon video footage from the day? Why not release the 3 black boxes from the flights? Why the put options? Why the secrecy? Why the need for the media to attack anyone who raises questions? Why can't people in a Democracy ask questions when the obviously exist? Go back to shopping sheeple!

Dude. Get a life. I lived in that area all my life. Passed those tanks a million times. They were OLD TECHNOLOGY. They had gone unused for about 15-20 years. The were EMPTY all that time. The only thing they were good for was as landmarks, and as such were useless to Keyspan. While it was sad to se them go, there was no valid reason to keep them there at great expense to the company. To try to make a connection between this event and the 9/11 TERRORIST ATTACKS is absolutely moronic.

I like the way you guys are making excuses for the them. If it really was just to stop the nuisance kids and to save on insurance premiums. They would have just said, no big secret. Its because they dont want to talk about it or even try to come up with an excuse that people wonder what the mystery is. Anything to do with 9/11. Prob not. But why not just say why they were bought down. Lots of sheeple in here I think. Dont want to believe they live in a world where this stuff can happen. shame

Trying a little hard now are we?

Why make it sound like a big mystery? They'd sat unused for a long time. I was sad to see them go since they were my view from home and therfore familiar, but nostalgia seemed to be the only reason anyone wanted to keep them. Was weird that year to lose the tanks to the east (from my place ) and WTC to the west -- the sky felt so empty.

lmaoo see yhou used this bullshit from loose change i don't see what this demolition has to do with 9/11 you know how its funny how when something meaning anything happened 2 months prior to 9/11 or a week prior its always used as a conspiracy theory. Those tanks were old and useless so CD brought them down yet again still don't see the connection with this and 9/11 probably cuz there isn't one.
They were named after Maspeth Creek, along where the tanks sat, on the Brooklyn Bank.

The NYC landscape has never been the same since those two towers came down.
