Actually the Panther was made in reaction to the t-34. The Panther was more of an equal and had far less mechanical problems. Tiger=Heavy tank

T-34 weighs 26 tonnes and Tiger is 56 tonns. IS-2 heavy tank wighs 46 tonns and has 122mm cannon

Depends on the situation, Germans didn't just throw Tiger tanks all over the field. Tiger tanks were deployed in groups where each tank covers the one infront of it with Panzergrenadiers on the flanks for possible infantry assault.

T-34's would probably have a better chance attacking from behind with their speed and numbers. In a head-on attack the T-34 would be no match for the Tigers superior sighting and 88mm gun.
