  • Who had the balls to record that. where i come from a camera should not be in use when you are on the marae or anywhere near a warrior as that is classed as rude and he could have smashed that out of your hands. but kia ora for the kaha

  • Hi, They actively encouraged the recording of the ceremony.

    Thanks,

    Sam.

  • thats neat then aint it..

i thought thats what course's were for to learn about it instead of having to record it is that not a real marae or something why they let such things go down like that...

Awesome thou but was it allowed to plant around on the internet.?

  • They said to share it with as many people as possible..

    Regards,

    Sam.

  • Just thought i would let you guys know what the tongue gesture means. Note that it is a man, also that he is a maori Warrior. The Meaning for the gesture is simple Maori people are one of the last people to eat humans, Maori people believe eating the brains of your enemy will give you his power. The "Pukana" (Spell check) - sticking tongue out means i want to taste your brain and if you make the wrong move i will take it.

  • Thanks very much, all very interesting information.

Have you been to this venue before?

    Sam.

  • Hoooosh - bleeeah.... hoooosh.... BLEEEAH! Hooosh, bleah!

  • My anglo saxon culture is without a doubt, the most barbaric, murderous bunch of savages ever to walk the planet. Centuries of brutal atrocities have been a part of my white anglo saxon culture and it really smells too. We are a culture of thieves, liars and dirty war causing trash. We think the world belongs to us, but it doesn't. We used to have an empire, which was stolen of course, but now we are nothing but pathetic cunts who still have a stupid queen, which we kiss her smelly feet and ass.

  • This is at Te Puia aye?

  • @Epochofbelief

Um no, the whites massacred the Maoris through violence and disease, much worse than any Maori did, on top of that the whites made no attempt to live in harmony with the Maori, instead they treated them badly like they do to non-whites everywhere

  • @MoralInvasion

Um no, you couldn't be more wrong, the Maori aren't any more brutal or savage than any other pacific islanders, maybe there is alot of crime amongst Maori because they were treated bad and put into poverty by whites, you need to open your mind abit, your pathetic

  • The Maori culture is probably the most brutal and savage in the history of humanity. After 170 years of civilisation it's people still behave like animals, bash and murder children and the elderly for gratification. 14.3% of the population and 51% of prison inmates, 18 of the last 20 child murders in NZ, half of all children in state care, the highest rate of abuse related child head trauma in the world.

  • I've been there I hated it, it was boaring and nothing related to Maori only these scary faces. the food was really disguisting and not even Maori food it was Fucking Western Disguisting Shit!! The meat is not cooked Yuk!!

  • @Epochofbelief I love how you use the term "settlers". It is certainly interesting how people such as Epochofbelief can probably relate to a rapist blaming his victim. Epochofbelief needs to re-write the history books so that indigenous people around the world can read that no atrocities were only committed on the innocent "settlers". The current history boast the same of the "innocent" settlers all around the world.

  • There were no atrocities commited on these people. They were neolithic cannibals only 170 years ago and still boast of their brutal and savage past. The only atrocities were commited by Maoris on the white settlers.

  • For the purposes of education and with consent by the appropriate parties.. yes such footage as this may be filmed. A lot of groups also encourage recorded footage for advertising in the tourism sector. However, others are right also.. if this was a traditional wero challenge for purposes such as a tangi (funeral), then recording may not have been appropriate. Somehow I do not believe that to be the case here and this clip is very acceptable. Nice to see others interested in the culture. Kia ora
