Chicago Sales Tax is actually 10.25, but still, as you say, higher than California. Chicago and California are both out of control on taxes. There is a disconnect between voter demand and levels of taxation throughout the country. The country is overdue for a very, very large tax revolt.

hell yea 47 thousand dollars per year is wealthy, in order to determine weather you are wealthy or not you would have to take all the sum of all the incomes and divide by the number of working humans, then if the amount of wealth you generate annually is greater than the previous number, you are wealthy, and i assure you the figure would be far less than 47thousand a year
