Reconing a 12" field coil speaker. The cone will be replaced, along with the old spider, the old spider will be replaced with a modern one.

  • It's definitely not a Philco, Zenith, or Motorola, it bears similarities to 1930's RCA speaker part numbers, but I could find no match (many RCA floor models used 2 ohm speakers). The housing looks similar to a Grundig Royal Majestic that I did a few years ago. You need to turn this guessing game into a contest.

  • @AMStationEngineer It sounds like a good idea.

  • Check the field coil and audio transformer. If the audio transformer is bad that can be replaced, if the field coil is open, that would be a bigger problem.

  • That looked like a cool-looking speaker b4 it degraded. I will look nice after restored. BTW, that's not the Soundesign driver from the one w/ the passive radiator is it?
