This group of North American river otters and I surprised each other on the Mad River near Tyee City today. The river is still high and muddy from recent rains. The otters couldn't seem to decide whether to be curious or frightened. I think there were six of them, and I think they were young ones. My camera was acting up so I didn't get the huffing and chompy noises they were making.

  • @TheCayucosman48 Thanks! Family legend has it that my great uncle could have bought Cayucos back in the 1920's. We all wish he had...

  • WOW great footage nice clip thanks

  • Wow, upstream under the ice is hard core. They sure are great athletes.

  • Right before Christmas here in Wyoming I watched two otters swim at least 100 yds upriver in strong current under the ice! It was my first time seeing them in person.
