In 2007, we wrote the following original compositions: My Brown Lollipop, Make It Right, Uncle Now Study Where, If It Wasn't For You, Go Away, Glide, Someday Somehow, and Hold On.

Venues we performed at included Youth Park, Sentosa, Bar None, East Coast Park, Raffles Place, DXO, Home Club, Toa Payoh Stadium, Timbre, Far East Plaza, VivoCity, The Heeren, and last but not least, the Esplanade.

Amazingly, we were chosen to perform at Baybeats 2007, the largest indie music festival in SouthEast Asia. This led to us being mentioned in magazines like 8 Days, TimeOut Singapore and Junk, as well as interviews by Channel V and websites like Youth.sg, Rampage On The Airwaves and Power of Pop by Kevin Matthews. "My Brown Lollipop" was also included on Junk 10, a compilation CD featuring artistes from Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Post-Baybeats, we got involved with the Speak Good English Movement, which saw us delivering our first acoustic gig and appearing on STOMP. "If It Wasn't For You" also became our very first song to hit local airwaves via 987FM.

Next came an apprenticeship with Noise Singapore, which introduced us to our mentor, Vivian Wang of The Observatory. Along came an interview with Lush 99.5FM, our first exhibition of sorts at The Heeren, and a compilation CD including "Crowded" and "If It Wasn't For You".

Elsewhere, we were featured in The Sunday Times, Nanyang Spectrum and The Nanyang Chronicle. Our videos on YouTube have accumulated a combined total of more than 22,000 views, with our cover of Rihanna's "Umbrella" garnering more than 6,000 views so far and getting highlighted by Tomorrow.sg.

To say that we've grown as a band in the past year would be an understatement. We didn't expect this year to be so exciting, but we're grateful for everything that has come our way. To anyone who has ever attended a gig of ours, offered a word of encouragement, or shown support in any other way, we would like to thank you for being part of the journey so far.

The first half of 2008 will be spent recording our debut album with Leonard Soosay, which we're really excited about, but for now, we plan to close 2007 with a bang.

This is our final gig for the year, at the Esplanade Powerhouse Stage on the 26th December. We'll see you real soon!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2008,
King Kong Jane
