Hi. I'm sorry, but everybody below who said she shattered her "forelock" needs to learn horse anatomy. A forelock is the part of the mane between the ears/on the face.

She was a hero. Little Philly made it to the big race and won. Now she is running in heaven with the likes of Secretariat!

@BreyerGirl your right! Horses love racing it's just tht I think they should be older! You know? I mean I would love to see them race at the age of at least 6 and older!

the 29 female horse to race... she came second to big brown which was a big deal but the sadly after the race she collapsed due to two shattered ankles in the front end of the horse, it is sad she was a Beloved filly and we were all rooting for her all the way R.I.P Eight Bells :'( we will always remember you

Its odd, she broke her ankles while she was airborn, not on the ground, she was a champion and i think she was in pain the whole race but kept going and couldnt bare the pain after it was done so she stopped... which led to you know,
