Elton recorded a new version of his 1970 song "Country Comfort" especially for Earl Scruggs' 2001 album "Earl Scruggs & Friends". The original version is on Elton's "Tumbleweed Connection".
Just love it Elton has given so much to music.. Let's keep Elton a music Icon and share his perfect songs for all the new aspiring artists. Scotty should have made you proud Elton!! I'm a teen who grew up in the '70's I'm more mellow now... still love a good old rock & roll song!!!!
Don't know how much either one of them, Elton or Earl, were into this take but it sounds good. Who could ask for more? I grew up with both of them. Seems natural country comfort to me.
as great as this version is with Earl Scruggs playing Banjo, I still love the version off of Tumbleweed connection better....spent many a nights wearing that old album out on the ole stereo turn table....
A classic combination of talent, and in my opinion, Earl Scruggs is the greatest banjo player of all time. Thank you for your posting...

Notice how EARL stayed with a Bluegrass style of playing as opposed to a more expected melodic style...... very COOL!!!!!!
