Uploaded this video to demonstrate that the ACER Timeline 3810T does play HD movies quite well.... without using more than 50% CPU power. Some claim that it uses all 100%, but as you can see by the video, it's not the case. And I was just using Vista's own media player, no 3rd party players needed. Forgive the quality of the video, I'm only using a small P&S camera... too lazy to use the camcorder, hehe. :)

  • great! it runs smooth :-)

but its with GPU acceleration... a core 2 solo 1.4GHZ cannot play back h264 in full HD res

  • @summ22 - That's the point... It's not that the Core2Solo is fast or not. It's the fact that the Timeline can play these files with no problems. :)

  • is that 'buzzshing-ing' sound from the notebook?

or is it just the camera you're using?

  • That's from the air-conditioner in my room, sorry for the hum, it's definitely not from the laptop... the laptop barely even uses it's own fan, it runs very cool. Exceptionally silent.

  • im thinking of buying this laptop. would you say that it would be able to run; itunes, firefox, ms word and msn all at once comfortably?

  • Yes it would. Those progams you mentioned do not need that much CPU power. I run Photoshop CS4 on it, and it handles quite well.

  • is this the core 2 solo su3500 or the su9400?

  • @maciejmogilany he never said the format of the video. it is just being played back on the windows media player.

  • @theflyingdiablo 1080p and 1080i are the same, just one is interlaced and one is progressive. that is how the frames are recorded and played back.

there is no 1920x1080i just 1920x1080.

  • @summ22 ahh but it can i run mine at 1920x1080i on my projector to watch movies on it the screen on this thing wont run 1080 res but it handles 1080i just fine

  • I run Photoshop CS4 on my old P3 1.1 GHZ and it runs pretty decent on 5MP pictuers

People forget that Digital Editing was even done on old ass Pentium 200mhz ....

  • can you post HD video played from mkv container. There are no HD films in wma format except Microsoft demos
