I've been looking at clock videos all morning in order to procure a reasonably frightening description for a horror novel I'm writing. I've been bored out of my mind, and then I get "It's ALIIIIVE" on this one and it totally made my morning.

Spooky? No. Just worn mechanics. Have it fixed or replace the movement with a new one. Probably Hermle has one that fits. Or perhaps it's even a Hermle inside it now. Have it services regularly and it'll live longer. Like you car. You wouldn't drive that for 100000 miles and 5-10 years without even an oil change ?

Wouldn't ya know that damned thing ran for 6 months then quit again. So far it hasn't come back to life. It's still a nice knick-knack tho.

Apparently this owner doesn't know there are many different chimes. Yes, this is a St. Michael's chime. Nothing spooky about this at all.

As a clock hobbyist I'm fully aware of the many different chimes. As stated in the description of the video, It's creepy 'cuz it sat there dead for years and then started ticking and chiming all on it's own.
