People are intrigued by these fading cultures. If they dressed as South American tribes who would come see them? The Andean region of full of natives, so much so that they are taken for granted. Here in N.A. where the indigenous population dwindled or so heavily mixed that an average person on the reservation resembles more a caucasian than anything else, I can see how dressing like this would get them attention. I hope one day they drop this and go back to South American dress.

I think they do that because they can "pass" as North American natives. Look at their bone structure-- looks like many of the natives of the north. Before I found out they were South American I saw this video and thought "Are there any with this pure of blood left in the US? Maybe they are Canadian" but alas the only reason they could preserve their distinct indigenous features is because they are from a country with a mestizo/indigenous majority.
