American penal systems are supposed to rehabilitate criminals, so that they may some day return to society. However, in Oklahoma prisons the administrators can be worse criminals than the prisoners.

This video exposes the criminal abuse and corruption of the Oklahoma Prison Rodeo, and the shameful, indefensible animal cruelty that occurs.

Please call the Oklahoma Governor and the Director of the Prisons and ask them to stop sponsoring this cruel prison rodeo. It is an outrage that tax payer money is used to pay for this brutality.

  • this is disgusting and needs to be stopped!!!! Where the hell is the rspca for fucks sake

  • @teenymak69 Unfortunately, the states where rodeos operate allow animal abuse in the rodeo arenas. Rodeo/livestock are specifically exempted from animal cruelty laws. Without that exemption, rodeo apparently cannot survive, and our state & federal politicians' collective mentality is stuck back in wild west movie times.

  • hey i went to this awesome had a blast ..........OKLAHOMA.....STRINGTOWN......BABY.. cant wait till next year......

  • @78hoopy Nothing like getting excited about watching convicted felons abuse animals, huh?

  • Yes, these practices are cruel. But most people should remember that half of these "cowboys" are inmates. Meaning that they probably have no idea how a rodeo should be done. The clips of them "breaking" the horses are horrible. It just proves that people who have NO IDEA how to train a horse to ride should not be around them. And doing these acts at "rodeos" is wrong. They are pretending to know what they are doing and by doing so are harming the innocent animals.

  • @horsebabe259 Everyone except the participants are PRCA members, even the stock contractors who are allowing this to be done to their animals. Also, everything you see happening to these animals takes place in PRCA rodeos. There is no difference except the inmates may or may not hold PRCA membership cards

  • I do not know how some one can PAY to watch this and why inmates are even aloud out of there cells to do this. Why dose a prison even have a ring like that. Its enough to make people who truly love horses puke! Shame on all of you who pay to watch this. Clearly you do not love horses.

  • Anyone who is so insensitive and cruel to inflict such pain on another living creature deserves such in return!

  • I put this on the Oklahoma Fans Facebook page:

UPI.com: Rodeo canceled in 2010. "McAlester Mayor Kevin Priddle told the newspaper, "The whole town was saying 'this is ridiculous,' and people were clamoring for anybody to do something about it," Really? The whole town? I doubt that.

"The whole town was saying 'this is ridiculous,' and people were clamoring for anybody to do something about it," McAlester Mayor Kevin Priddle told the newspaper.

  • I agree they should have their legs broken and see how it feels :|
