The Enterprise of Brockton, Mass., www.enterprisenews.com
He played a trumpet on the beach of Normandy, after the Allies broke through the German battle line during the D-Day invasion.

And for 65 years, he hasn't forgotten that day.

Every June 6, I had a little thing where I started out calling seven or eight guys in Boston and around that I knew in the Army, it was just like a ritual, so now its only one guy left to call, and thats Tony (Antone J. Semedo of Wareham). Ill call him on the sixth of June. We just talk and laugh.

On June 6, 1944, Sherwin Grannum of Middleboro and his unit were part a ploy to fool the Germans into thinking the Allies were heading for a port. They came in a flotilla of 5,000 across the English Channel, many destined to be sunk at Normandy.
