Not a super cell will produce Tornado. A storm has to have the right conditions to produce a Tornado. In most cases, warm moist air from the gulf, cool dry air from the mountains, and favorable upperlevel winds. The time a day does also play a factor. Most Tornatic storms occur from as early as 2-3pm to as late as 1-2am. The more heat and humidity, the better the chances.

I will turn 50 in Feb next year (2012) and I've enjoyed weather since I was a kid (living in Tulsa, Oklahoma), but it has only been within the past couple of months that I've discovered timelapse is invaluable when it comes to clearly seeing the spin.

any idea why this one didn't produce a tornado (only thing I can think of is that it was too late in the day, or it lacking rear flank downdraft).
