Did you know early in our time dogs and other animals were kept in order to survive? Dogs and wolves led humans to their prey, And now we think that we are gods, we slaughter everything, Thats not very intelligent,

I don't care what happened to the cat before hand. That mule knew what he would do to a big cat if he had the upper hand. Still ONE BAD ASS. He wanted to make sure the cat was dead on his terms. Still a good story true or myth.

At 0:05 in the pic shown, how does a dead cat, just shot, have his leg stiff and reaching for the mule and have his body turned just behind the shoulders towards the mule. If Jody just shot him, regamortus wouldn't of had time to set in. The cat would have been limp. The magazine reporter never said that he checked out Jody's dads story that he had the negatives to these photos. The cat loks alive to me, I've beat my shepard with cats he's killed 3 days later and they dont curl up in the air.

@kenfo0 I don't know about cattle, but I know around here of several people that keep mules or donkeys in the pasture with sheep to protect them from predators. I had a relative that had 2 very large mules when I was a kid, he only used them to pull the plow though. They were very large and would have been formidable in a fight against anything. I've never seen a mule fight another animal, but I'm sure they could kill nearly any smaller animal if they chose to. (and don't let one kick you)

@kenfo0 . i am what you would probably call a "cowboy" and i have found mutiple dead coyotes dogs and a bobcat all stomped into dust by mules. mules are stronger and smarter than horses though they are still"prey" animals they know when they have the upper hand in a fight.

someone knowledgeable help me out: I see donkeys or mules in pastures with cattle around here. I was told they are to protect the herd from predators...that they kick ass. True or false, and how do you know?
