    This line rings hauntingly true, she turn around to leave him & the it dawns on her, "It was you my love, you are the stranger" Damn, Leonard is right on- woman fall in love with hopeless men, trying so hard to give them love or shelter... but in the end its ourselves that is the real stranger, because if we loved ourselves in the first place we wouldn't be hurting ourselves through the quest for a hopeless unatainable  love. Its a cohen sorta day*

    Whiny and self-pitying? Really? He's always struck me - through his music - as being warm and possessing great fortitude, therefore infusing even the lowest of points with some hope. There's a lovely dry humour in a lot of his work too :)
