Excellent vid...yours was the first I've seen that actually showed how to mount it.

The orientation of the batteries have them longitudinally parallel with the direction of the recoil. As such, they have stresses put on the battery contacts. For some users, this caused the contacts to eventually fail and render the sight inoperable until they could be repaired. EOTech addressed some of these issues with a revision "F".
Also, all new EOTechs, such as the XPS line, have the batteries rotated 90's degrees so as to not stress the contacts.

@Last1Left2324 Any of their models can be used with a 7.62 rifle, but they do not make a model with a BDC designed specifically to that caliber. As of this time, the calibers they do have a model with BDC for are .223, .308, and .50.

@InGen62 I would be really careful about replicas. You get what you pay for. There are red dot sights available for under 50 dollars, but they do not have the accuracy and reliability of the better sights.

@NIKON777 I have heard a couple of rumors going around about battery contact issues, but to this date I have not had any of these problems myself. The optic reviewed in the video is actually my personal sight, and I have put a few years, thousands of rounds through it without any glitches.
The 512 is quickly becoming an outdated model, the XPS is their newest, best model. I just picked one up and it is sweet, we should have a review out soon along with a few others.
