  • i love how you guys cite things like wheel arches and reflectors as "proof" that this HEAVILY MODIFIED car is a 944. It's a 924

  • @dwright944t actually it looks like a 924 carrera gt..

  • Seen this car at the Ace Cafe. Simply awesome.

  • That's a Porsche 924. Not a 944.

  • i am defantly geting a super charger for my 944

  • 924 's original engine was specifically designed for the car. The care was originally slated to be an audi touring car, which is the reason for volkswagon brakes and suspension parts on the front. Audi dumped the project, and sold all of the design to porsche who refined it over many generations. The 924 and 944 differ only by degree on the chassis. Engines changed from the switch to 44, although one should note the 44 engine was later put into a 924 body as the 924s.

  • 924 grey market and the first 2 years of imports did NOT have the round lenses.

The carrera version 924 DID have those rear flares. There is also a dozen venders that sell fiberglass flares which look just like that for the rear.

The front nose and fenders are 924 style. My vote is the donor chassis was a 24, not that any parts still remain from it on this build.

  • kool 944!!!!

  • That's certainly not an original 924 engine, I don't think it would even see practical gain from a belt-driven supercharger (hence the turbo applications typically sought). That is a Chevy small-block, probably LS or LT series. A company Renegade Hybrids has a great LS1 transplant kit for 924/44s, you can hit up Google for their website to find more info.

  • Supercharged LS1 ... See other videos. clearly 924 body. Very nicely done. 11.9 is quick. I'm more interested in the mph.. was that 126? Fastest on my turbo is 124.5.

  • so does the 968, and while they share the same FR transaxle layout and the 4 cylinder engine, thats where the story ends.. they are completely different cars, especially the later ones

  • I'm surprised with a Porsche in your screen name you would certainly know where a 924 comes from. Originally from a tractor if you wanna go way back. The 924 was THEE biggest success story for Porsche. Your 944 comes from the 924 (I know that comes as a shock to you).

Very nice video of a monster '24!

  • uh no , its from audi u dumbass .

  • definitely a 924 with the wide body flares. but that motor is all chevy. 924 engine HAHAHAHAHA isnt the original 924 motor from the VW bus

  • i asked around and found out it's a supercharged LS1

  • sounds more of an LS to me...could be original idk much about the 928s

  • LS motor or small block chevy?

  • I hope your joking... i seriously hope your joking

  • If you can't hear that it's a V8, then you need a hearing test. The original shitbox 924 engine, would have been in pieces all over the track.

  • thats wayy to big to be a 4cyl

  • Is that the original 924 engine? or did you swap it out?... Personally, I would try to stay away from the straights with a 924 or 944 and move towards the track... just sayin.

  • it started off as a 924, i can tell by rear body lines, the rear has the arch flares moulded on, i know i have one.
