People aren't asking these deepest questions, but should. Instead we debate lesser issues, as if it were about my-god versus your-god. Let's get to the heart of it, k? Superior God would offer superior salvation, right?

  • How's this from an atheist'; take it easy brothers and sisters, equally. Do not fight, do not bicker, enjoy the fruits of nature. You are one. Treat people as you wish to be treated yourself (Socrates, 400 BCE). Human morality is innate, not written...

  • @avester777 Yep, it is. Spirituality is not morality. It's way higher, and a killer. That's why I empathize with atheism, and always say you gotta ASK GOD for proof. Meaning, look at the ceiling and say, 'God, all this information is confusing and it looks like you don't exist. Am I talking to myself like a fool, or are you really THERE? If you exist, I need proof!'

For, you have a RIGHT to it. No one believes in God absent proof. Not possible.

  • @avester777 And a pleasure to debate with you. We can get nasty, too. Just right now, we're not. But feel free to do so. I won't faint or hurl curses on your head, but maybe will hurl a few insults back -- insult never means cursing. It's just a form of discourse, like any other (i.e., the DI in Basic training uses insults to help people respond to vital instructions).

  • @avester777 reply to your 'science is indeed fallible' comment -- yeah, religion is loathe to admit it fails. God is not religion, or people, and neither is Bible. Why we humans always have to religify everything, right down to our hair gel and deoderant (oh I I I I I I I use RightGuard!) -- baffles me.

God has a Name. If I addressed you as 'vested77', that's not your name, and you don't reply. Wills have Grantors. Legal issue, there.

  • @avester777 Also, I would like to add, your common sense reply is amazing. I see so many comments on YT that are just plain obnoxious and ridiculous, it is a pleasure to debate with you. I DO believe all religion is ill founded, but respect individuals beliefs, so long as they can justify it. I ask nothing more. Take it easy my friend.

  • @brainouty Again, a fair response, science is indeed fallible, but it admits it. Religion, and I'm wholesale when I say that word, is not. Medically, if you got ill (and I hope you are not, and do not get ill), would you pray to God, Allah or Yahweh (or Thor or the 2000+ other gods man has invented) to get well, or go to the doctor to find a remedy concocted by scientific trail and error?

I do believe my foot is still intact (ref. first response!)

  • @avester777 Well, I'm not debunking science wholly. Just showing it's fallible. BTW, Scripture taught about disinfection a long time ago. RCC is kinda arrogant to claim it speaks for God, especially since it contradicts His Word. So let's not confuse our Churchinanity screwy INTERPS of Bible, with what it actually says.

I'm as critical of Christianity as you can find. I'm trying to be the Don Rickles of Christendom. :)

  • @brainouty Cheers man, and yes, I do!

  • @avester777 And as for science, consider this, the discovery of penicillin and its application has saved more lives than all the deaths in all the wars in history combined. We discover through trial and error, as opposed to assuming knowledge through scripture passed down through generations, and changing along the way to suit, as was the case in protestantism in the 16 century UK in its break from the Catholic Church, individual causes (Henry VIII needed a divorce!).

  • @brainouty Well, all three of them. If you want to remove your own post, just hover your mouse to the right of the post, and you'll see 'Reply'. Click on the down button, and you'll see Remove or a trash can. Click that, to remove your own post.

    I won't do it for you. :)
