How fast is the gear shifting in manual mode? It looks pretty slow response right?

alot of people do not realize that automatic transmissions are "set" to the power band of the engine for performance under throttle. My inline six in my jeep hits max power at about 4650 rpm, but the redline is 5200. It loses power at that point, and my tranny shifts it at 4700. if you redline it the times will usually be slower for 0-60 simply because the shifts are less smooth, and the power band isnt used as effectively.
