Lite a 240 volt cfl from a toroid and 12 volt 800 ma.
Cfl is about at 75% brightness.

  • Thanks - I have done Laser`s Joule, It works great !

  • Hi, OD = 3.5cm ID = 1.8cm and it is 1cm high.

Between 100 and 200 bifilar turns - this one is just over 100, 0.3mm wire.

I try smaller torries and they also work - begin with high resistance on base like 2k and work down until the bulb lights.

    Keep well.

  • No blackmesa25 I have not, maybe u can hook it up to a bridge rectifier and run something on dc as well - I am solid into something else now - show u in 3 months.

I think I may have the answer, just maybe but it looks very good.

    Kind regards

    Ben

  • Great video!

One thing, I don't think digital multimeters can read these impulses very well.

From what I'm seeing here, you almost had one amp!!! Meaning almost 240 watts, into that small bulb ;D

I bought a cheap analog multimeter for exactly that reason. Also, true rms meters should be good too, but they are really expensive.

Thank you for sharing : )

  • @Nabo00o Thanks for the kind words. My analog meter only measure to 250ma and as you say, rms meter is not yet in my budget. Keep well.

  • Thanks for the kind remarks, Bill.

  • Nice vid, there is no power savings though. This is a 15w lamp?

    lit to ~75%. So ~11.25w? 12v battery. actual voltage ~13.5v? 800ma.

    So 13.5x .8A=10.8w consumption. 10.8w/15w=72%brightness.

Have a look at Lasersaber's "Super Joule Ringer"

  • Hi i'd like to know the toroid's dimension and how many turns it did . tnx see u soon

  • can i turn on a TV with this energy? how long will the tv will last turned on?

I have a 12 voltz battery, 1A... If i bult one Joulet thief, can i turn on my notebook?

  • Thanks

Have you Circuit diagram and Resistor info thanx for sharing.

  • Sir,requesting for any circuit diagram and component specifications for better understanding...

  • Uhm yeah I'll quote the first guy: "This is really brilliant". Exactly what I'm thinking too!
