Mentos - The Car Movers (Cult Classic)

(www.briansack.com) I wrote a satirical piece about this commercial over ten years ago. Imagine my surprise when the actress in it emailed me from South Africa where it was shot. She'd NEVER SEEN her spot - a spot which was a cult classic and spoofed galore, including a Foo Fighters music video. The poor girl had been searching for this spot for over a decade. I thought this was terribly unfresh and searched high and low to no avail. Things looked bleak. Eventually I reached out to friends in high places looking for any way to locate a copy. An advertising friend (now renown for writing the GEICO Caveman ads) found the spot. Though the quality belies its age, I made a nice South African actress very happy. A very Mentos ending indeed.

I don't really know, I was just in her town for a seminar and she was rude, so we moved her ride so I could get my car out, we went on our way to eat lunch and before the seminar began we drove past the building that she went in and the car was gone. My friend stayed to film the tow truck take it but she never came out.
