The Pre was released in January 2009, 6 months after the iPhone 3G was released. It was claimed that the Palm Pre would kill the iPhone. 5 more months later, the iPhone 3Gs was released. Everyone forgot about the Pre.
That is what happened. BTW, I own a Palm Pre.

Yup, I honestly believe this is, as JayCanuck stated, the first true competition for the iphone. This phone looks pretty good, however, I think Apple is going to continually beat out the competition.
