No problem.Best wishes.

@TheEaglestar1 No church I ever stepped foot into was directed by a holy spirit. I am blocking you now.

@sepiasiren Matthew 23:27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean."
There is a better way.It is God's way,the way of the Holy Spirit.
Micah 6:8,"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

@sepiasiren ...and you are quite right to not set foot in a church that is not directed by the Holy Spirit which as a result demonstrates God's grace and love.We now live in a new covenant of grace and thankfully that old covenant of law, death penalty and war is obsolete because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and so we are now free to love our enemies and show grace to others through the power of the Holy Spirit.

@sepiasiren Hebrews 10:16 "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." It is tragic that the "church" of Western civilisation has abused and misunderstood God's Grace and the New Covenant. That is why people condemn homosexuals rather than loving them, that is why people go to military war for oil and power while pretending to be christians, that is why people like yourself reject chuches..

@sepiasiren 2 Corinthians 3:3 "You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts".
Jeremiah 31:33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

@sepiasiren Now there is no death penalty for sin."Let him without sin cast the first stone"(John 8:7).Now there is no nation-state of God's people and (physical) war is obsolete."But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,"(Matthew 5;44).Now there is no system of ritual requiring priests as mediators between God and people. Now the Holy Spirit is with believers in a personal way.
That is how Jesus Christ fulfilled the old covenant of the Law completely:His

@sepiasiren Or what about
John 6:15 "Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself." Or Matthew 26:53 "Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?"
What is going on here? The answer....there is a war going on and Jesus Christ advocates SPIRITUAL war,NOT physical war.Everyhing changed when Jesus Christ died and rose again;the New Covenant of Grace was brought in.
-
@sepiasiren And Jesus Christ also said,as you have quoted,(Matthew 10:34) "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."
Then again He said,(Luke 17:21) "nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."
Or there's the quote,(Luke 12:52) "From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three."

@sepiasiren I will certainly stop this discussion if you so wish yet at the same time you have voiced frustration that I haven't addressed your other points. If you would like these other points to be discussed,I can honestly reassure you that there are answers.Jesus Christ said,"My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."(John 18:36).
Religion is a 100 billion dollar a year industry in the U.S. non-profit my ass.

Absolutely tax the churches! They should have to file all the same tax paperwork as any other "non-profit" organization, and only get a tax break on those PORTIONS of their activities that any other non-profit organization would.
