I think the japanese deemed the children too violent as well, so they removed them, but the demon children were the origional, and were origionally pink skinned, but that was deemed too violent again ¬¬

Actually no, it's not like the Demon Children were replaced in every version of the game but the American one (for whatever reason), it's the other way around, the Claw Fingers were replaced by Demon Children for the release on the U.S. market as some sort of bonus for that version. Proof? Guess what - ever seen the Japanese version? (SH1 was made in Japan, just in case someone doesn't know, so the Japanese version is the "most original" one.) In the Japanese version there are Claw Fingers!

The american version had the demon children (Much better)
England has the claw monsters due to a shooting at a primary school incident, so they deemed it in bad taste to have you shooting children and replaced them.

@javierr999 Yeah that's gonna happen if you don't set the "Bullet adjust" in the extra options to at least x4 (it multiplies the amount of bullets you get from every single box of ammo that you pick up). You unlock and enhance it with every ending that you see (thus the maximum is x5). Go to options and press either R2 or L2.
