You won't find this anywhere else on Youtube: Tommy and Phil Emmanuel playing an epic version of Carlos Santana's "Europa" as a guitar duet.

Tommy does his favourite gig, playing rhythm for his older brother Phil, who takes the electric lead. When they shared the stage at the 2nd Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Festival in Rietberg (Germany) in August 2005, it seemed like they were travelling back to their childhood, feeling like kids in a toy store: They laughed at each other, enjoyed every second, even swapped their guitars like they had done it in the early 60s already (watch it at 4:00) - now that's real four hands guitar! And Tommy acted as jack of all trades, also doing a drum solo on the drum kit as well as on his guitar and finally moving the whammy bar for Phil.

They are great as a duo - but imagine them in a full band setting! Australians, don't miss the brothers, when they hit the road in December 2010/January 2011 for their 50th Anniversary Tour, together with TE's old band!

  • Woww!!!!

  • DAMN THAT LEVINSON SOUNDS GOOD!

  • lol wow that is so cool when they play each others guitars

  • You blokes don't know what you're talking about! Tommy is the best 'Atkins' fingerstyle player in the world at present - and Phil would be one of the quickest plectrum players ever. They started young, learnt from each other, and both had natural talent. Phil doesn't have a 'big head' - he's feeling for the sound, whereas Tommy is the showman.

  • There are better Phil and Tommy examples. Phil's good but I think he's got too big of a head or something.

Sound of the acoustic is bad, but might be the recording, maybe was OK live.

  • @egyptology22 LOL! No he isn`t By the way who said Tommy was an acoustic player,He`s just a guitar player. In fact Phil ain`t a good player at all,I cringe when I listen to his old hat, played out play by numbers style.

  • @reoreason not nice, its his brother, and he is just as good, just not an acoustic player
