I got a email asking me a few questions on how to get started driving trucks. So I thought I would post this quick video to try to answer some of those questions.

  • Training what training from what ive seen they get their licence from a cereal box

  • @FMFRACEIN you can work everyday if you plan it right but you actually have to take 34 hours off to reset your time

  • Holy shit dude what is the point of this video. 12 minutes of not knowing what is what. You said it...union worker.

  • for over the road driver it 11 hours and after u hit 70 hours u have to take a 1 day break

  • Although I've been driving for nine years, it's been quite the learning experience. i'll be retiring next year. With my health problems and my vision going downhill, I think it's time I got out of it. I've been a trainer for 5 of the last nine years. The caliber of students we get has gone down the tubes. They come in this line of working thinking it's easy. It ain't!!

  • I clicked on this video with the image of the Internation truck there and was totally not expecting to see my favorite beer review guy. Did not know you were a trucker. Cheers to you for all the work you do man!

  • @LadyNirakina I started in 1972 and it is far better now then then. But consider the work, loading and unloading. The equipment tickets such as .. air leaks and breakes out of adjustment are yours...out of pocket..Mileage pay is great until your on the side of the road broke down. It's a serious choice and you really need to ask questions and be sure. not for the married or lazy as it is work.. I loved it for 25 years and a million miles. also taught driving rigs. 9 surgeries now. good luck.
