Mitt Gets Worse: Jennifer Chrisler

As a Massachusetts resident, as somebody who has witnessed more than 15 years of failed leadership from Mitt Romney, and most importantly as a mother, a lesbian mom, who is raising ten-year-old boys in the state of Massachusetts, it is so important to me that people understand Mitt Romney's track record on issues of fairness and freedom for the LGBT community.

I'm Jennifer Chrisler, and I am a lesbian mom. My spouse Cheryl and I are parents to ten-year-old twin boys, Tim and Tom, and about to add a third child to our family.

If Mitt Romney were to be elected president, I can only imagine the incredibly hurtful and hateful things that he would say about LGBT families. From the more benign statements he's made about, kids really need a mom and a dad in order to be happy and healthy, to I can imagine him saying that it would be better for kids to be in state care than to have two moms or two dads raising them. Telling them that it's better for them to be thrown away by our government and by our communities than to have loving people who would raise them to be happy healthy human beings, just because they happen to be lesbian gay bisexual or transgender.

Mitt gets worse every day on this campaign trail. He will throw us to the side to get what it is that he wants, and to hell, frankly, with my kids, with millions of kids who are being raised by LGBT parents.

I could think of nothing worse than having my kids have to witness four years of him as president. And the real damage it would do to them, their belief in this country, their willingness to stand up and say i am proud of who my country is and who my president is. It would just be so damaging to them.

Mitt gets worse every single day in the messages that he's sending to my kids.
