The students of the New Zealand Opera School in Wanganui surprised shoppers but singing a surprise rendition of Brindisi from Verdi's La Traviata.
Thanks to the staff and students of the New Zealand Opera School in Wanganui and to Stu Lumden for putting the clips together and to Dave Cohen for loaning equipment
Please remember that these were students, and - as it happens - the tenor stepped in at the last minute as the one who had been practising collapsed and had to be rushed to hospital. I am not aware of any way to record sound in a busy area unless a microphone is used! It was not our lucky morning as the recording equipment jammed, hence this is a camera recording.

It's very good, for an unannounced concert. Not QUITE a 'flash mob' BUT still very creditable.
