Hey, Carlo...if you're reading this..PHENOMINAL, as always. And for all of you who don't like Carlo, then, don't listen, there is an OFF button on your computer. Been knowing Carlo since he was 19, before he met Virgil..I was a student at UNC-Greensboro, NC (1970). He's an ol' NC boy, himself. If you liked this, you will want to hear his arrangement of "All Through The Night." The thing that bothers me is that he wont write any of his arrangements down. Maybe before he passes into Glory.

Oh dear... awful playing! Absolutely murders the music and demonstrates a lack of taste as an organist... I've never rated Carlo as a player and I've yet to hear anything which would change my mind.

Some say that he has a musical note played from his naval. And that he uses more organs than his fingers and feet to play his music. All we know is, he's Carlo!

@OwizzleSpindles As I understand it, the use of the word "smashing" in the sense of "really good" has its origins in the Scottish Gaelic expression " 's math sin" (pronounced "ss maa shin") which means something along the lines of "it's very good". I may of course be wrong, but that's what I have been lead to believe.. :D

Always a big Curley fan. So many organists 100% use pistons. I love watching his command of the stops by using them directly in many cases.

I was lucky enough to be at this concert. This was the first piece of the first organ recital I went to - 2:20 is a moment I'll never forget!

I think you'll find English people tend to say smashing, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish have rather different sayings lol.
And btw, this is coming from an Englishman, we don't always say smashing, we often say "rather good," "excellent" (but without the Bill and Ted twang,) "brill," the list goes on. It depends entirely upon the situation and who we are with. lol
