I know that when I was a child my mother always introduced me to fruits and vegs.+ SAD. Plant the seed. Where I am right now I bounce back and forth from raw to some cooked. I need a little bit of cooked but I try to put the emphasis the raw. I don't have kids but I work with kids and I think they probably need a little bit of cooked in their lunch box. You can't have kids eating the teachers lunch. I understand where both are coming from but moderation and strive for the best.

Isn't pasta cravings derive from carbohydrates deficiency? Kids need snacks too. They're hard to discipline -_-
Good thing I don't have children haha!!
More fruits, and delicious vegan foods. I never heard of children on fruitarian diets, and I wouldn't give my kids(if I had any) vitamin suppliments either. Feed 'em lean meats, and add more vegies would be my opinion :/

Parents should teach their children healthy eating habits, and when they grow up, they are free to do what they feel is right for them and make their own decisions; yet what was taught to them at home will stay with them for the rest of their lives, whether for good or for bad

I loved this! This is like me and my husband.. my husband leans more towards your wife's point on view, but I am more strict.

Boy do I relate as I'm in a 2 household situation (with an ex wife) and a 14 year old. You guys are a sitcom. I'm a comedian and I love your funny-bones and all your videos ~ they've been helpful. I also love the NY in your souls. I think the only way is by example and healthy options. Best, Steve (Friend of Doug's and Brian Wendel's).

I see where Mike is coming from but I agree with Victoria...Mike should be home more with the kids, then he would change his story a bit.

Thank goodnes I saw this. I've being trying to eat only fruits and feed my 28 months daughter only fruits, but she keeps saying "I'm hungry" and asking for noodles or rice. I'm trying to be creative with the fruits, but I have to practically force her to eat most of them. Good thing is that GRADUALLY she is eating more and more fruits by her own iniciative and that shows me light at the end of the tunnel. But it's impossible to shield her from the world, visiting grandparents and friends. Thanks

I see both ideas on this one but agree more with Victoria. My solution: just buy tons of fresh fruits and veg and have them eat some steamed starches instead of having to go towards junk etc. They are young and resilient and should realize for themselves what they want. You guys are great though adn I like these videos. It's like the debate that goes on in my head but created between two people who share a common appreciation for fruit & health but are both concerned about it in different ways

I like the idea about going to pick fruit with the kids. Go to the farmers market with the kids. Let them pick out their favorite fruit. Start growing a tomatoe next to the window. Help your kids grow sprouts. Let them grow up understanding what makes natural food fresh and healthy. Planning a raw food oriented activity that is fun, will probably resolve some of your frustration and also be a great learning experience that your kids can share with you. Pleasant healthy memories for kids.
I can see both points of view but I agree with your wife given this is new to your children. They will rebel if you try and force them. Work on a compromise with them (their feeling count) and then stick to it.

I think that knowing how cooked food effects them will make it unappealing, but knowing they could always have some will make it less tantalizing. If you taught your kids how to develop self awareness, they would choose the best for themselves. Like if they want to go out for pizza - let them get some pizza and have as much as they want. They'll make the connection when they see the difference in how they feel. Also you could go out for picnics and pick fruit- introduce new ways to have fun.
