A video montage of my overnight embark on the USS Nimitz. This is the final part of my 3 part series showcasing the fun we had. In this video, we explore the flight deck from back to front, visit the ship's nurse to find out about medical capabilities, and visit a Magazine Room to learn about weapons. Truly an experience I'll never forget.

@LightfeatherxX Yes. I did tours on both a SSBN and a SSN. The SSN was by far the more interesting tour simply because of the kinds of things we did. More variety and port visits.

This series brought back memories especially Sick Bay. Was VS-22s Corpsman for the Saratoga's 80 Med Cruise and JFK's Med/IO cruise in 82 was TAD to Medical for both cruises

Aviationwingnut has it dead right: Just as education is wasted on the young, these tours are wasted on some "VIP"s, when there are many others who have an intense interest in this kind of stuff but who will never get a tour themselves. At least this VIP put video of his tour on the net -- I thank him for that.

Well, it keeps saying "distinguished" visitor embark. I wonder what distinguishes these people? I used to hate it when we'd do what we called VIP cruises for a day on the submarines I was on. Many of them stayed interested in what we did for about 30 minutes and then got bored REAL fast after we submerged. One time, we had to put a movie on to keep them occupied.

@stratoleft yeah i completely agree with you. I did however notice the cameras setup in the first video in the briefing room, but other than that, how they were able to get on board when the were away from port seems a bit odd.

I'm just trying to figure out that they allowed you to be not only on the Nimitz but with the Nimitz also underway. Not only that, they allowed you to be on Nimitz' aviation ordinance area, which I think is behind the rear galley and goes down to lower compartments. Not only that, they give you and explanation of ordinance. And, they allow you to be on there for this...why, again? It's not like you are making a cool mvie like Final Countdown. It's not like you are Kirk Douglas.
