One of my favourite 'best' (most tense, cool, etc.) scenes; the killing of a boy (Czes) in Baccano. Inconceivable for western cartoons (that's why I love manga/anime).

Oh, yes; no (posting of) spoilers please! People should go watch the anime to see all the goodies and surprising twists, after all!
This is my very first try in editing/creating anything on youtube, so bear with me. Hope you like it, though!

Baccano is highly recommended. Though at the start it's a bit confusing with a lot of flashbacks&forwards, there are scenes in it that are really great. It's no shoujo though, and be warned there is quite a bit of gratuitous violence in it (even some scenes where the boy is tortured; I might make a youtube-scene of that too ;-p). Especially the parts with Rail Tracer are cool.

PS. Do NOT place spoilers in the comments, please! It's readable by everyone, and not all appreciate spoilers!

  • this anime is quite misleading if you don't know the story beforehand. XD

  • @mikan13579 True, but I don't want too much spoilers being put in the comments (that's why I sometimes delete them). People should watch the anime and get surprised, not be told spoilers here out of the blue. People who watched it know the twists and turns and the central theme, of course. Still, the anime IS pretty violent, however you look at it, so it's not for the faint of heart.

  • i've never seen this anime before so don't know whats going on but this is terrible. killing a little boy? yeah, what a great scene -___- i hate this type of insensitive violence in animes.

  • @oliviaajangel Is there any other kind? I don't think there is a thing like 'sensitive violence'. :-o To each, of course, his own viewpoint on the matter, and I've already explained mine in comments below. The point of the matter is, insensitive violence happens, and thus, by showing this, an anime also depicts certain aspects of the world that aren't shown in classical Hollywood-made cartoons, and thus it gives a more realistic picture of the world - which, indeed, is not always that sensitive.

  • @AniMageNeBy your right. i know theres no such thing as senstive violence and yes it does show how brutal the world is, but really now. crushing and bursting peoples throats with one's bear hands...

  • @oliviaajangel Well, I have another youtube-scene where the limbs are torn off from a boy (well, sort of), but I don't think you'll find that any better. In any case, one can't deny it sticks out from Western cartoons and makes an impression, seen the amount of views it got. And mind you, it does say 'best scene' with as theme 'killing', and in this respect, these are pretty poignant examples of killings. I also have 'best scenes' themed 'talking' though, so maybe those are more your cup of tea.

  • im scared he just kill a kid that didn't get his 1st kiss,poor kid T ^ T

  • @CaptainRaccoonWhitly Only physically speaking..

  • @bigdragon8me Weeelll, for the most part I guess people would think Claire is a badass because (and this is a spoiler for those who haven't seen it but) he is able to fight well, climb on top of a train and be a cold assassin who is just on the verge of insanity. And yeah... poor Czeslaw. ):

  • Felt really bad for Czeslaw...especially knowing what he's been through. Can't really see why people think Claire is a "badass".

  • @AniMageNeBy Oh, finally a clip thats not turned into a "Self made" AMV, that I thank you for. I also agree that this scene was pretty awesome but you shouldn't undermine the philosophical part of the anime too. The "confusing" bits in Baccano is what makes this anime worthwhile not just a violence-oriented show.

Anyways glad I found another anime fan that sees the difference between Japanese animation and those of the West XD.

  • @ifsey Technically speaking, he kinda is. He's not really a little boy, but he also kinda is. (Jeez, it's hard to discuss this without spoiling anything... >_>)

  • @oliviaajangel *cough*He's not a little boy*cough*

  • Jerry makes a much better Claire than the Jap v/a.

  • Dub is better ;)

    I absolutely LOVE Baccano!

  • i love love love baccano !! ^^ love it soooo much !!!
