Standard suction socket with a VASS system - vacuum assisted suction socket - creates a vacuum by pulling out all residual air in the socket - the pump is hidden in the forearm. This arm has no harness and the pump is critical in order to hold the arm on.

Sorry for the delayed response. It is a V-Hold vacuum locking suction suspension system manufactured by Innovative Neurotronics. Since I am an upper extremity AE this is the only way the prosthesis will stay on when subjected to these types of weight loads. A standard suction socket will not work - I know because I've tried it and a harness configuration could put unwanted pressure on nerves and limit mobility. This has worked very well.
