  • ho was in the goal for finland

  • @12niceman Jukka Tammi. He splitted this tournament with Jarmo Myllys.

  • Whaaat??? 1988 Winter Olympics were in Canada, where USSR won the gold medal...

  • Yep in Calgary, the USSR had ensured the gold medals before their last game against Finland. Finns needed a win or a draw to get the silver.

  • heh, canada might be a good hockey nation but if you look at the size of countries like finland or sweden the fact that theyre always up there in the medals, id say that finland and sweden are the best hockey countries in the world

  • greetings from Poland guys.

Polish team played games during that olympics.we had good national team in 70's and 80's.nowadays we collapsed completely.currently we play world chamionships with Latvia, Hungary, UK and others not too strong teams, which is very sad.

still wait for better days, may be someday

  • Yes the medal round was a round robin up until the 92 games. Few people realize about the Miracle on Ice had the US lost the last game to Finland, the Soviets would have won gold despite the Americans upsetting them.

  • @MrPekka77 yep, i looked it up now, you're right..

  • @zobielamouche1

the commentator clearly said that Tammi was the goalkeeper.

  • maybe USSR didn´t take it so serious and gave us silver.

  • @gangstarr92 from the late 50s on, the SU always had great times, also before the fetisov generation, players like charlamov, yakushev, firsov, maltsev, ragulin, kapustin,...

  • @ShorthandedGoal in 1988 neither myllys nor tammi were in the goal! their time was/is some years later!! it was probably ketterer, or kamppuri

  • @zheka1780 : yeah it was ;) And although I would never deny Canada as a great, maybe the greatest, hockey nation you have to say this CCCP team was maybe the best team ever existing, I mean look at the players : Mogilny, Larionov, Krutov, Makarov, Kasatonov, Fetisov, Bykov, Khomutov, Kamensky ... Just a legendary team

  • Did he say in 1:14 VOI VITTU.

  • I remember this game. Finland won 2-1 but the Soviets were already guaranteed the gold.
