A flame color of copper I (cuprous) chloride in burning methanol. Includes 4 picture clips, the last one is its emission spectrum. Note: the orange line is due to traces of sodium ions as an impurity.

  • There are 2 copper chlorides.

    Copper I chloride (cuprous chloride) is insoluble in water.

    Copper II chloride (cupric chloride) is very soluble in water.
