  • I don't know if you have listened to this same symphony buy performed by the Moscow Philarmonic Orchestra with Kirill Kondrashin... It's the best

    hola,

yes ofcorse i know the version of kondrachine , i have at least 7 differnt recordings wich include the kondrachine historical recording. You are completly wright when you find this version the best. but i didnt put it on because the dynamic of the recording is even poorer then this one , thats wy. Shostakovich is my favorite composer, and lots of his symphonies i have multiple versions. greetings from Belgica, europa , alain

  • this version isnt my favorit one but in recording its the most dynamic one in soundspectrum.

    a bit slow.

this recording is on melodya -olympia label

and its the symphonic orch.of min. of culture of the ussr. conductor Gennadi Rozhdestvensky.

my favorit but an historic recording is with Kiril Kondrashin, orch:moscow phil.symphony orchestra.

also : Rudolf Barshai, with the WDR sinfonieorchester (german).

i have those 3, but from the 7 symphony i own 6 different recordings

  • They can play hard rock, hip-hop, trance, or death metal...because good music is good music, no matter what the genre. I never understood why people listen to one genre and then comment on another. I just enjoy what I'm listening to at the time.

  • I usuallylisten to heavy metal, but Dmitri was an utter genius.

  • Shostakovich served as a firefighter during the siege of Leningrad, so this music is probably sincere and comes directly from the heart.

  • para nada acojida, pero su oscuridad es una critica al comunismo

  • @jollywood999 I usually listen to music...

  • Remember too, Shostakovich did not escape the city which was surrounded by the stupidos ...
