@robheinink How about including chord charts for the instrumental verses of songs such as 'Dr Wu' next time you transcribe, huh? But great job nevertheless, you got most of the inversions correct, at least on the piano stave.

Hi, I wrote the Best of Steely Dan guitar book for Hal Leonard music in 1996 and I researched what guitarists they used for certain solos and Walter Becker definitely played this solo

I couldn't get the video link to post..but it's on Larry's
Larrycarltonmr335 channel under 'Josie' ..
-
apparently Mr. 335 did not play the solo on Josie, I always believed that he had!
the link shows his story on the track..but he did record an instrumental of Josie some years later..
and very nice solo played by you as well!

@Siabod57 You're right , I just went on Mr.335 tv and Larry talked about doing Josie instrumentally because he did not do a solo on the original. He said he just did some vamping chord riffs on the Steely Dan version.
ya nailed the tone!!!

I really like your playing of this, great tone and precise playing - thank you for posting - & the video is very clear will be good to learn from. ( btw just at 0:25 just after the pause , I always thought he slides the note up the neck rather than bending it up as you do, but I'm saying this from memory so iI may well be wrong . whatever, this is really nice )

Hi @echo680 thanks for your positive comments - having had another listen I think you are right it should be a slide - I have trouble with the double stop bend at .20 - don't quite get up to the note - think I may have to re-record it -in the true spirit of Steely Dan's attention to detail . Cheers
