Interview with Jeepney Operator on their day to day issues plying the UP corridor

This is the start of the Biodiesel usage of the UP Jeepney Cooperative. The Regents of UP have been very concerned with the pollution impact of diesel jeeps in the Campus. There has been a constant struggle between the school and the jeepeney operators. A choice between Environmental Concerns and Livelihood, the UP campus wins out and are steadfast in their decisions. Jeepney Operators and Drivers have no choice but to find the best solution at the least cost possible. This Biodiesel project is in connection with fast food giant Jollibee, which provides us the oil at a negotiated price, so as to provide the affordability necessary to make Biodiesel acceptable to the using public. Eway54's mission is to produce high quality, affordable biodiesel using multi feedstock oil which costs much cheaper than present biodiesel products in the market to create the awareness necessary to curb the effects of diesel pollution in Metro Manila and the Philippines. Biodiesel is the most effective means to lower air pollution in the metropolis, without need for any modifications to the engine, and at an affordable price. This is the best option available to these Jeepney Operators, whose livelihoods would be seriously affected if they will not be able to find any alternatives.
