US should have said: "I am more colourful, ain't I the pretty one!" (it's literally true with the number of state and colour of people)
China has one of the biggest single cultural while US is one of the most multi cultural country. I don't think China and US should try to be the same. Their uniqueness is what give them strength and give the world variety. let's all enjoy our differences, cheers!

Umm.. It's not how many engineers that you graduate but what % of your population graduates as engineers. Not so relevant to have 5x the engineers if you have 5x the population. That was a stupid stat.
