Amy Shuard and Richard Lewis, creator of Walton's Troilus recorded about the time of the first performance in 1954. A criminally short and tantalising excerpt showing great intesnity on the part of Lewis despite the opera's chequered 7 years writing and rewriting before its premiere.

  • im so glad to be able to hear this on youtube. as a training tenor myself, i would love to have the opportunity to sing this opera. i listen to the opera everytime iam driving. what a masterpiece, and so rarely heard, which i find baffling. love it love it. thankyou fo uploading it.
